[Review] Bejaflor – Bejaflor EP (2018)

Mais uma demonstração de que o panorama musical português está bem e recomenda-se. Têm sido notórios os efeitos positivos da globalização na música e nas mentes criativas dos jovens portugueses (seja lá onde se localize o seu quarto). Pelos dias que correm, vão surgindo, quase numa base diária, novos trabalhos de qualidade. Aqui e ali, surge algo que se destaca pela sua particular beleza, sensibilidade e talento.

Bejaflor é um desses casos. Nota-se que José Mendes, o jovem que dá corpo a Bejaflor, bebeu muitas influências entre a Pop, os ritmos tropicais e o poder dos sintetizadores que se terá habituado a conhecer via Internet e apresenta-nos uma sonoridade catchy e de incisiva contemporaneidade lírica.

A partir do seu quarto surge-nos o primeiro EP, com um conjunto de seis boas canções de pop alternativo com uma Portugalidade sempre presente (nota-se por exemplo a influência de B Fachada), mas com temas comuns a tantos jovens do século XXI, num mundo que deixou de ser um primado exclusivamente urbano.

Por exemplo José canta em “Internet”:”Tanta foto, tanto chat/E o peito já não mexe/Sempre a ver pla internet/Essa moda não me aquece”, algo que passou a ser o dia a dia da esmagadora maioria dos jovens (e também dos não tão jovens), sejam dos grandes centros urbanos ou de pequenos lugares onde chegou a Internet móvel ao mesmo tempo que desapareceu a escola.

Destaque especial também para “Pressa Pra Crescer” em que José canta: Pensar bem naquilo que vou fazer/Não vale a pena ‘tar com pressa pra crescer”, o que se espera que seja o mote para o delinear da sua carreira.
