[New Album] Bon Iver – Bon Iver

Em Fevereiro de 2008, Justin Vernon (Aka Bon Iver) emergiu da cabana onde esteve enclausurado a curar males de amor, e apresentou ao mundo um seminal álbum – «For Emma, Forever Ago» – merecedor de aclamação mundial. Álbum de letras fortes e de uma beleza cruel, colocando automaticamente Justin Vernon entre o songwriter clássico, melancólico, negativo e sofredor e o artista pop moderno, que não tem medo do experimentalismo, e de preencher a sua música com camadas cíclicas de efeitos sonoros.

Em Junho de 2011, Bon Iver apresenta o seu 2º álbum – «Bon Iver» – e escolhe para imagem de capa, nada menos, nada mais, do que uma cabana no meio de uma floresta. Mas, Emma, saiu da cabana e percorre neste álbum diferentes locais nos Estados Unidos.

Este álbum pode ser visto como fazendo parte de um livro de histórias de encantar, segundo acto da vida de uma personagem nascida da escuridão, isolamento e desespero absoluto. Em «Bon Iver», Emma, vai soltando as amarras do desespero e vai vendo que existe um mundo para além da cabana onde nasceu.

E neste «Bon Iver», a beleza de Emma resplandece à medida que Justin vai apresentado os ambientes visuais, que, sendo agora muito mais cosmopolitas e preenchidos (de 2008 até 2011, Justin até parceria com Kayne West fez)  são representados por inúmeras camadas sónicas sobrepostas e em loop, mas nunca perdendo o foco da importância da invulgar voz de Justin.

Para alguns, nunca haverá Emma como a primeira e convenhamos, depois de um álbum tão completo e absoluto como «For Emma, Forever Ago», a tarefa de Bon Iver não era nada fácil, mas os génios são isto mesmo, e «Bon Iver» pode não ser o melhor álbum da carreira de Justin (vamos ver o que o futuro nos reservará), mas será certamente um álbum de enorme beleza, riqueza sonora e, como tal, absolutamente obrigatório!
Chamamos a atenção para o facto de a crítica especializada estar a receber este álbum com enorme entusiasmo, merecendo 100 em 100 para revistas como a Mojo e Uncut e 9,5 em 10 na Pitchfork.
