– Feist

Este «Let It Die» é sem dúvida um excelente álbum! Dele, podemos aferir que a música é mesmo uma caixinha de surpresas, e que de onde menos se espera surge um trabalho carregado de inspiração, que surpreende e encanta pela simplicidade e brilhante voz de Feist. Cantora canadiana que tem no seu currículo ter feito parte de bandas de punk e de rock, com um sucesso bastante assinalável, para além de ser próxima de Peaches e Gonzalez, entre outros.

O disco foi gravado em Paris entre 2002 e 2003 e nele notam-se influências que vão desde o pop declarado ao jazz, passando pela música alternativa, com laivos de indie, bem como de experimentalismo, denotando no entanto um sentido melódico muito marcante. (Ao que não será estranho o facto de Feist ter colaborado por exemplo com os Kings Of Convinience)

No (brilhante) alinhamento destaque para, de entre as seis faixas da autoria de Feist: «Gatekeeper»; «Let It Die» e «Lonely Lonely», e no que aos covers diz respeito, a versão de «Inside and Out» dos Bee Gees (numa abordagem «a la dance music»), «When I Was a Young Girl» de Sebastian Mure perf. Traditional and «Now at Last» de Dick Haymes perf. Blossom Dearie.
