Silvio Rodriguez

Um dos maiores nomes da Nueva Trova Cubana, construiu, ao longo de mais de 40 anos, juntamente com Pablo Milanés uma carreira recheada de grandes álbums.

Não questionado o facto de ser claramente um artista de intervenção, tendo mesmo em alguns momentos feito parte do governo cubano, o que importa salientar na sua obra é a excelência das suas criações, a beleza das suas melodias, a profusão de sentimentos que resultam da audição das suas composições.

Com mais de 30 álbuns editados em diversos países, tem vindo progressivamente a alargar os seus horizontes musicais, parecendo nos últimos álbuns – Expedicion de 2002 e Cita Con Angeles de 2003, querer introduzir alguns elementos electrónicos, bem como, a gravação em conjunto com uma orquesta, criando uma roupagem mais forte, o que poderá fazer há primeira vista esquecer um pouco a importância das letras.

Mas, o poeta continua bem vivo, e as letras mesmo convivendo agora com muitos outros instrumentos, para além da antiga e fíel companheira voz e guitarra, não perderam a sua beleza e continuam a ser o ponto decisivo que tornam Silvio Rodriguez num artista a caminho do Olímpo.
